Project Description

Raise Funds through recycling with TOMRA

You can raise funds for your cause while helping the environment, encourage the community to recycle and help the transition to a circular economy.

Over 700 not-for-profit organisations, schools, sports clubs, community groups and charities have benefited from fundraising through the recycling of drink containers through their state’s Container Deposit Schemes using TOMRA’s unique technology.

So far, NSW, NT, QLD and WA charities and community groups partnering with TOMRA have raised  over $2M through our reverse vending technology.

Ways you can fundraise with TOMRA’s technology

myTOMRA App listing (NSW)

NSW Recyclers can donate directly to your organisation from any TOMRA recycling machines using the myTOMRA App (NSW only).

This is FREE and you receive donations directly to your bank account every week.

On-Screen Donation Partner (NSW & NT)

Recyclers can donate some or all of their 10c refunds by selecting your organisation directly on the screen of their local TOMRA Reverse Vending Machine. There are 3 types of donation partners:

  1. National donation partners are national charity with the DGR status
  2. Major donation partner is a state-wide charity organisation with the DGR status that is selected to be listed as a donation option on the screen of the entire network of Reverse Vending Machines (ie. + 330 RVM kiosks in NSW).
  3. Local donation partner (NSW & NT) is a school, a sport club, a local charity or community group listed as a donation option on the screen of their local Reverse Vending Machine(s).

NSW recyclers can apply here or email donations.nsw@tomra.com for more information.

Major Charity Appeals

Our farmers are faced the worst drought and the most dangerous bushfires in living memory. Some towns burnt to the ground already and others were running out of water.

Recyclers across NSW and QLD dug deep and donated the refund from their bottles and cans to help those in need. Our goal was to collect 2.5 million containers and raise up to $250,000, and we raised more than double that amount. 100% of all donations went directly to Rural Aid to supply Rural Communities with Food, Water and Hay.

What our charity partners are saying:

The online registration and set-up was extremely simple and we were up and running in no time. Not only is the app enhancing our income but it also promotes recycling and litter reduction in our local community.

Richard Lorde, Top Dog, Assistance Dogs Australia

I found the myTOMRA app VERY easy to download and use. I like the fact that minimal steps were involved in registering. High praise from someone whose skills in the digital age are not great.
